Hazardous Materials
Fewer landfills will accept waste materials because regulations have changed the toxicity classification of some of these materials. Their disposal in other industries such as agriculture, has also been reduced.
ARC has the experience and know-how to safely handle, recycle, and/or dispose of any environmentally hazardous materials that result from the construction, repair, retrofit, or demolition of your furnace. We observe all EPA rules and regulations.
Since the early 1990s, ARC President Dave Boothe has been developing environmentally friendly solutions to the waste disposal problem. Guided by his expertise, ARC has acquired a wealth of experience in developing “green” environmental systems that recycle as much waste materials as practicable for each client and contain the rest for safe disposal.
Materials’ Recycling
In the past, the least expensive way to dispose of the waste materials produced during glassmaking in fossil-fueled furnaces was to bury it in a landfill.
Our environmental systems save you money.
Our systems not only reduce or eliminate landfill costs. They also recycle as much waste material as possible back into the glassmaking process, replacing increasingly more expensive raw materials. Often, the money saved on raw materials pays for the environmental system that ARC designs and installs in less than two years.
In addition, ARC clients have enjoyed substantial cost savings resulting from reduction of labor, elimination of protective equipment during routine handling and disposal, and avoidance of EPA fines.
ARC knows that one size does not fit all.
The key to the effectiveness and efficiency of our environmental systems is their custom design.
We take into account a laundry list of factors, among them the chemical and physical characteristics of the waste materials; process changes; raw material variations; cyclical changes in ambient conditions; and the method of discharge from the abatement system.
When you choose ARC to design and construct your environmental system, you can rest assured that we’ll provide a custom-designed system that successfully addresses the specific recycling and disposal challenges your company faces.
